we have an end of refurb clean to price and as an extra the guy has asked for the driveway and patio to be cleaned up.

it is quite a large area of pathways and the odd square of patio here and there.

a : how would anyone else go about pricing this sort of job?

b : i don't think any chemical would be required but would anyone suggest it?

c : the driveway in particular has no fixing between the tiles - we were thinking of cleaning it quickly and then redoing this for him - any suggestions?

i realise i'm asking for a bit but we have only previously used the washer a couple of times for cleaning out pub cellars etc so this is  bit different for us.

how many square meters is it ? What type of drive is it ? how much do you need the work ?

Approx 35 m2

normal patio tiles on drive and patio (sorry if this sounds vague)

Would like the work as have just bought the washer and also it is part of the whole refurb clean so will look better if we can do all that is required.

Most cleaning Companies Charge £1.5 Upwards per Square meter for Slabs, Concrete and Tarmac.

anyone else - what about the repointing of joints

I go in at £2 mtr for the slabs and for £70 would be done as a top up job at the end of the day. I only ever brush sand into any joints

so with doing the resanding am i just best off not worrying about knocking exisiting fixing out and then doing this after anyway (if that makes sense)?

 for  flag stones requiring repointing:dry mortar mix. brushed in. wet using watering can and fine rose. job done.

rose is what you call the sprinkler head you put on a watering can. fine means the holes are smal ie fine, so that you get a light shower that doesn't wash the mortar out of the joints.

Is it 35 metres squared or 35 square metres?

Big difference in the price!

Joints in the slabs could be done with 'geofix' which simply brushes in and cures itself, no need for watering or mixing (Wickes' do their own version which is just as good and 2/3 the price.)
