pointer ladders size help.
« on: October 09, 2004, 11:34:58 am »
Hi all, I have been using a set of 3m and 4.5 m ladders and I am  looking at a set of ramsay pointers.  What would anyone recommend for size?  I am mainly working on normal domestic houses.  Should I go for 3m or 3.5m pointers?  Any advice would be great.

Double 12 foot are perfect for domestic. Thats 3.66 metres.

I have a set of these in the garage and were spot on until I got my wfp. i used them for about six months. I don't use them anymore.

They are quite expensive and can be around 1/5 to 1/4 of the price of a trolley system. are you sure you want to buy them, could be you will end up doing the same as me and just have them laying about doing nothing.

I would see if you can hang on with the ladders you have got until you save a bit more for a wfp.

Im also using standard trade ladders set of 3m and a set of 4 m.

I am also going to buy a set of A frame alloy ladders i am going to get the 3.5m from http://www.ladders-999.co.uk/ladders_windclean.htm

The reason im going for the 3.5m a frame is i found my 3m trade ladder is to small for some jobs and my 4m trade is to big for some jobs so if i get the 3.5m A frame it should just work out right. Going to order them monday

I have a set of 3.66m that I use for standard houses and aset of 4.88m for when I do town house's and flats I went for the wooden option because I find them better in the winter and the wind.

I used to use a 7.31m double pointer & a 3m pointer, was toying with getting a 2m pointer but got a WFP instead.
actually still carry the short pointer about with me but only use it for getting over locked gates etc.
