Had a call from YP today.

New guy taking care of my account (surprise, surprise)

Wanted to know how things were going this year?

''Well, only had 2 calls since January was my reply'', ''really! We have it at 10''.... ''Wow!'' was my reply.

'' Looks like yell is doing well for you'', '' you're kidding, not 1 single solitary thing from that'' I said. ''But you've had 2000 views''? '' So what, not a single call, and how many of those 10 calls from YP were sales calls''?

'' Well, I would like to meet with you and discuss how we can improve things?''






Er.......No thanks!

'discuss how we can improve things'

translation;

'how we can get you to spend more of your money on our services'

its the same when the bank asks you to call in to discuss 'how they can improve your account' they again just want your money.

Well I must say that this year I have been pleasantly surprised with the response we have had from Yellow Pages and Yell.com, on average I'm getting 3-4 jobs a week.

Just got one yesterday, a titled Lord and Lady, they want all the carpets in their Hall cleaned, windows done on a 8 weekly basis  and also the holiday cottage cleaned every saturday in their annex.

I asked. as I always do, where they got my number from "Searching the web, found you in yell.com"
