Lowest product/waste RO ratio?
«

I have a nasty suspicion the local water company is going to demand I get a meter and pay-as-I-go
I currently use a 300gpd RO-man, but I think the waste ratio is very high. Does anyone know any figures of different RO product/waste ratios for comparison? Not interested in Ionics, as they only supply van-mounts and I need static.
Cheers

Using a booster pump helps, both with purity and waste.

I am on a water meter and use a static 1000IBC tank. I phoned the water company and they told me its cost £2.39 per 1000 litres including sewerage. My ratio is around 3-1 so it costs me under a tenner to fill the tank.

I am not on a meter but have a basic 40 40 Ro system. I have 2x 10" pre filters.
I use a booster pump because the water pressure is Naff from the tap.
I have my valve set on flush all the time as I am filling my 1000 ltr IBC tank.
I get per minute 9 ltrs of waste water to 4 ltrs of pure water.
My tap TDS is about 90 but my tds after the RO without useing any resin is ZERO.
If I did not use the booster pump I get about 7 ltrs waste to 1.8ltrs pure.

ive fitted a little tap to the waste pipe, its about 1/2 open, it cuts the waste by ALOT
when you flush the membrane, just open the waste tap fully and that will flush all the crap away
with the tap fitted now, i flush every week
