Microbore hose is just a name that we window cleaners use to refer to hose that is smaller than 1/2" hose.

Anything could technically be referred to as microbore, if it was smaller than something else!

The microbore as sold by WFP suppliers is reinforced whereas the hose for the poles, whilst technically of a similar size to 'Microbore', is not reinforced.

Thanks Alex,

Regarding suppliers, i do understand that you are one of them and thank you for your input here, i am , or i was a little confused as to why i could not find microbore anywhere else other than the internet, i dont think its over expensive however, i simply want to be able to buy it in a store as and when i please without v.a.t and postage charges, which i feel is my choice.

But it is not really a common hose and that is why i was asking for opinions and advice, and considering the amount of window cleaners on this forum, and the percentage who have read this post, it seems clear that hardly anyone knows where to purchase , other than the internet, that being yourslves and two or three more companies, which i find extrodinary.

Thanks for your explanation of microbore and its "common" name,
but i still have not received a relative reply ,  regarding where to purchase, apart from tony, who asked for a little patience  ;) but still has not come back, ..

also, microbore can be classed as 8mm id 6mm id.... 11mm od 15 od...... so its pretty confusing,

Gary.

Hi GazzaSP8

The reason you are having difficulty finding window cleaning microbore hose (6 mm id reinforced) is that two of the country's main suppliers (Streamline and ourselves) have this hose specially made to our requirements. Airline hose (which can be bought over the counter), whilst having the same profile, is not as tough and does not last as long in window cleaning use (we know because we tried it!).

if i were you mate i would buy the RIGHT stuff FIRST time. penny-pinching is false economy with something like this that gets so much daily use & abuse. ;)
