Solar Panels to power pump
« on: May 30, 2007, 10:37:33 pm »
Just a fleeting thought....

Would it not be possible to power a 12V pump using energy from solar panels?

Campers have them on the roof sometimes but I'm not sure whether its to power directly the apliances or whether it's just to charge the batteries.

Pumps requrie amps to operate, solar panels produce milliamps, so quite a lot of solar panels would be needed to operate your pump,

There used on caravans to trickle charge there battery.

This mounted on the roof would trikle charge your battery. (I think)

You might still need to take the battery out and charge it up but not as often.??
