I know we aren't all tax inspectors or accountants, but just wanted some advice regarding payroll and income tax.
First pay for new employee, many chances to provide p46, didn't return it in time or show that it was going to be returned at all.
Payday comes and payroll package says BR due to no p45/p46 and income tax is deducted.
Employee kicking off as didn't want to be taxed obviously, and only done 12 hrs this month.
As I understand I've done this correctly as code BR is to be used if new employee earns over £4.00 per month.
I try to follow the rules on everything, but the employee has meade me doubt myself due to her attitude now towards me.
Am I in the right?
