Try to find out who the national company is that is doing their windows and ring them up and offer your services I have done this and now do Sommerfields - WH Smith - and a bank (Which I don't bank with)

I do our local Superdrug, and so far I haen't been paid since I started invoicing the main contractor....oh...invoicing?
Silly me...I don't even have an address to send the bloody invoice too! :o

Which reminds me....I'm going to ring my contact right now (for the umpteenth time :-\) and try once more to get things started...coming up 3 months now!

Any one else do any Superdrugs??

As far as I am aware they just about have theri own in-house team, a sort of major contractor that does Superdrug stores cleaning (not just window cleaning) and nothing else.

Same with council buildings- big companies with five year contracts. I wonder who does housing association properties? Is it up to the tennants? you can spot them a mile off round here.

I was offered several McDonalds & Pizza Hut, but turned them down straight away simply because the prices they were prepared to pay for window cleaning was absolutely CR*P!!!!!!!

A friend of mine who stacks shelves in Tesco (locally) is also responsible for cleaning the windows. Tesco are too tight to get a professional window cleaner in. No wonder Tesco have a massive profit. First they deny liability for selling faulty petrol, then when they're to blame, they eventually try to act all innocent and can't do enough to restore public relations!! Don't you just love Tesco's for killing off the town shopping centres?

"Can we beat the nationals?"

The answer is about 98% no. Very, very exspensive 'corporate' insurance cover. Very, very exspensive 'corporate' H&S training, whether it's b0llocks or not, and last but not least, good old fashion back-handers where the minimum is at least a shiny new Corsa/Fiesta for the 'Missus'.

I wa in a Tesco a month ago and watched a window cleaner about 6pm on a Friday night as he mopped and squeegeed the insides of the windows backing onto all the tills...very busy......outstanding job...very quick but very efficient...smart and oviously knew the drill. Looked like a sole trader.
