helping new window cleaners
« on: January 07, 2007, 08:02:01 pm »
I just wanted to say that this forum is fantastic, but what I really wanted was to have a day or so with a window cleaner so that I can learn some tricks of the trade and basically just see how it is done by the experts. I was offered the chance to spend a few days with a window cleaner, who shall reamin nameless and was promised faithfully that they would get in contact again that day and then the following day to organise times etc. I chased them up and was let down again. It is hard enough trying to learn new things without this kind of difficulty getting in my way. I would help anybody, but that is just me. I would have hoped that there may have been a genuine offer of help for somebody thathas asked for it. There has been a previous thread regarding this subject and hope that it has been read.

Thanks

Marshy

Marshy,

I am dissapointed with your posting regarding the offer of help when it was myself that offered it!

To put the record straight, yes I did offer to give you a day out and yes you did contact me (whilst in a meeting with a customer) despite me saying I would contact you and as you will appreciate I have a busy schedule.

I appreciate you wish to get out and learn the ropes and understand that you are chomping at the bit, however, I do think you should also realise that a day out is not as straight forward as just turning up? I have to organise the work that is suitable for your request (traditional) and also organise the crew you will be out with as well as Insurance for you for the day!

I did promise to call you back and didn't, it was a very busy day and with respect your call was not a priority, it was in my diary to call you today??

Hi Trev

Really sorry mate, I have read the post back and it does sound as if I was having a go- I really didnt mean it to- just so frustrated at the moment as I have customers waiting for me to call and Im on the brink of of really good thing. But thats only thanks to you and the other guys on here for all the advice.
I thought Id offended you by calling you, I appreciate that you are a very busy man, and once again please accept my apologies - Im having a bad day, but thats no excuse to offend a guy thats offered to help me.
I know Ive probably blown any chance of help now, but I honestly didnt appreciate what was involved in taking me on for a day. I have learnt a lesson, and just wanted to say sorry mate.
I will have to muddle throught this one on my own I guess.
