BWCA Course
« on: February 02, 2007, 11:25:14 am »
Hi,
I've booked to go on the BCWA course in a couple of weeks.
They are going to send me a list of local B&B/HOTELS but wondered if anyone that has been on the course can recommend any cheapish places that won't be on the list. Must be handy for the course centre.
The more i save on accommodation (no greasy spoons thanks) the more for a 'refreshment' in the evening.

Thanks for taking the time for any replies.
Cheers

If you are going to the course in Newcastle I stayed in the Holiday Inn not far from there and there was also a Travelodge near by. Remember it all goes against your tax.

A bit of a courseaholic eh John!!
I'm doing the one day skills course on the 14th Feb' to get the basics (in case i can't afford the wfp equip') followed by the one day wfp course on the 15th( in the hope i can scrape enough money together for a trolley)
I should get the accommodation list nxt week, just hope there's a few pub b&b on there.
Have taken a look at the one suggested above for around £50, was hoping for something a bit cheaper. Can't find much on t'internet.
Apart from the practical skills you learnt, do you feel the course gave you the 'confidence' to go out on your own?

Cheers

Sorry Rhino, haven't done the Skills course. I did the WFP, Marketing (excellent), Risk Assessment, and Manual Handling courses.
