The Leeda Blue Diamond Fishing Pole
« on: January 18, 2007, 12:30:03 pm »

Called in my local fishing supplies shop this morning to make enquiries regarding the
Leeda Blue Diamond fishing pole with a view to converting to a W.F.P. as I`ve been
Recommended this model highly. The fella who served me said the Blue Diamond was discontinued in production late last year. Can anyone recommend a suitable
Alternative? I`m going to wait till the shop have some second hand poles in as they
Deal in second hand models on a regular basis. Can experienced members give me
Some advice as to what price to agree for second hand that will reach to 45 feet when
Working. All replies, help and advice much appreciated.

IVE looked at diff poles and been reconmenended quite a few but they didnt have any in stock. but dont forget a 45ft pole may be up to 60ft long , to get enough strenth to hold a brush and all the trimmings + you may have to lose two sections of it to get to 45ft strenth.
my experience with carbon fibre wasnt that good,  lightness, carnt be beaten , ,strength negative, wear and tear be very careful with wear and tear , got to be extra careful in wind a nightmare [only because its so light]

IM AT THAT AGE MY BACK GOES OUT MORE THAN I DO

It hasnt been available for about a year, you could use any other but some have slightly thicker wall widths, you also need one that can be extended and one that has readily available spare parts. To meet those criteria ie something that is duplicatable for others, you should look at my reccomendation (CFS 16) in this topic on Matts site, "Featherlites Merry Christmas" (see reply 3) at least until the end of the year when another "new" pole will be born and everything else will be out of date. Youn will also need the Ron Thompson pole You should expect to pay £200 for a s/h Blue Diamond

Hi L.Doubtfire,

I have a complete 'MAP F16  16m Pole Package' and the Ron Thompson top pole, which I bought a couple of months ago for evaluation purposes, it has only been assembled once. It is brand new as supplied.

You can have both poles for £270 including P&P no VAT as it is a private sale.

The top sections are extremly thin and whippy for catching fish. You discard the top 3metres and use the rest approx 42ft

Yes if you want to go to 42ft regulary and want lightness, its a fair market price.
