can i get a logo ;)

Of course you can, but wait till after the weekend as it's being ever so slightly altered in the next few days.

You can be one of the first to fly the upgraded, re-designed, improved, new formula, approved logo. Wear it with pride man, all those who are not in the SLWCN will look upon you with awe.

Well, they might say "Aw, look at that new logo"  ;)

Aye, it was rather draughty today wasn't it? It was showing 36mph gusts on the windmeter so we started Friday's shops early and finish today's houses tomorrow.

As Tam has agreed here is the latest info that was posted on the SLWCN forum,
any guys based in Scotland that are licensed are welcome to join the forum.

The Scottish Executive are pleased that a network has been formed to increase
the profile of window cleaners in line with other recogonised regulated bodies ie: Corgi . This is the way forward.

Details as follows :-

Just to keep you updated had a phone call from the Scottish Executive
today about enforcement. I had sent him an email highlighting that there
seems to be no co-operation with local councils in enforcing the license.

The biggest excuse is lack of resource in both enforcing and public
awareness.

He suggested that we still keep liasing with the local council in a positive
way as we have to be aware that the licensing is an option for local
councils. If we go in heavy handed then we may see a backlash in that
the councils then scrap the license all together.

He shares our veiws and concerns and is willing to help us in advising
us what to do. We are now in contact with SOLAR which he has passed
my details onto them.

SOLAR are the Society of Local Authority Lawyers and Administrators in Scotland who are members of the Task Group to look into licensing. I will also be in contact with COSLA who are also part of the Task Group.

Funding for public awareness through our network we will have to go
through the Scottish Ministers.

Unfortunately the Scottish Executive do not have the list of licensed window cleaners. The see the enforcement lies in the hands of the local councils and do recognize that there is a problem but they are looking at the councils to resolve this problem.

Overall the Scottish Executive are on our side and are keeping an eye on this. They want to be informed of all consultations we have with the local councils.

If we get the same response from SOLAR and COSLA we could be onto a winner. But we need to act as a organisation as I was asked many questions which I had to bluff my way. We need to get more members
signed up then we will have more power.

Overall so far so good, you should see the CC.. list on the mail. Quite a few are being included in this.

Sorry to Ducky, I deleted his request for a logo by mistake :-[
Was triming away some of the pointless, chit chat replies at the time...
