battery not charging properly
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:37:46 pm »
hi all
got an omnitrolley and every night i put it on charge for the last year and a half, usualy the charger goes up to 8 but will only go to 4 now.
its a dc35-12 12v35ah/20hr, if that means anything to anyone ?
Was just wondering how long they last before they need replacing, and where do i get one from.
Every morning my machine is sluggish and i need to sort this problem quick

I agree with sunshine, try draining it fully and then recharge it, check the out put from your charger if thats all ok then its a new battery, Try peter fogwill for your battery he is the guy that sells the Trolley.

Try draining the battery fully before you charge it. They dont always respond to half charging.

I tend to achieve this by carrying a spare trolley battery with me.  That way I don't have to re-charge "just in case".  The last Omnitrolley battery lasted me 13 weeks in situ before needing a recharge.  I just swapped them over when it finally gave up on me - just takes a few minutes tinkering about.

Have you checked the water battery level
( I know most new batteries don,t need refilling but worth a look )
( your de-ion water should be ok to use )

They seem to be sealed batteries in the Omnitrollies Ray.

If the battery is a leisure type battery then DON'T fully discharge it!!!

Leisure batteries are not designed to be ran flat.

Batteries don't last forever.

Contact Omnipole about your problem, they will be able to give you better advice as they know what type of battery you have and the sort of lifespan you can expect out of one.

Oops.  Hope I haven't screwed up by running mine flat.
