Anyone recommend work trousers?
« on: November 06, 2006, 11:45:37 pm »
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent supplier of smart work trousers. I've been wearing jeans but have gone through about half a dozen pairs in the last couple of years always around the knee.

Must be kneeling in damp carpet and overspray from suite cleaning.

Any ideas?

Kind regards,
Jason.

I clean in Chinos from Primark £6 a pair last a couple of months and throw away. look smart as you can make up summer and winter uniforms.

When I first started I asked customers about what they prefer and they said that they like smart but not shirt and tie so went for Clean ironed Polo shirts in navy and cream chinos.

Looks the part and customers like the apperrance. Good thing is that I can go and quote this way aswell as people dont want the Estate agent look coming through the door. I think they like that I am clean and smart but not trying to impress by apperance.

Jeans and trainers are a big no for me, just does not set the right image.

have to agree with Neil , Primark every time,
Smart black trouses £6 per pair, cotton short sleeved collered shirt £3  , embroidery on shirt £1 50p
3 pairs trousers, 3 shirts embroidered al for £31
they wash well, look well , and what does it matter if they only last 6 months ? I ve been wearing mine for a year now and still as good as the day i bought. the only problem i had was a zip came apart on a pair, no probs changed straight away

Bought trousers with knee pad pockets but the pads didnt seem to stay in place (on the odd occasion I remembered to put them in).

Now I just buy work trousers that have pockets down the side to take the mobile, pen, specs etc. and use strap on knee pads which stops the wear on the trouser knees.

I wear clothers manufactured by a company called Tranemo. They look the part and last for ages. Also do fancy colours like red for those wanting to stand out from the crowd.  8)

Hi Jason,

being local to you, I use Yarmouth Stores in Bevan Street, Lowestoft.  Dickies combats, 12 quid a pair and they last an age.

Kind regards
Paul
