Has anyone who use wfp ever washed a window or roof light and once cleaned found that the seal has broken and the whole pain of glass misted up?This has happened twice to us  and obviously the customer not very happy.I informed them that because the window is always south facing with the sun beating down on it that it is inevitable the with the seal broken the water will go in and mist up.They are obviously going to blame the pole and not the seal saying "its rained hard before and never happend so its either the water or the pressure" therfore will probablly make a claim on your insurance.If this has happened to anyone before i would appreciate your comments.Also does anyone get their customers so sign a disclaimer stating that if this does happen you are not to blame and it will be down to broken seals?

Going by the customer's logic if the WFP did this then why didn't it do it to every window?

The window was faulty, seals break down.  A glazier/builder will charge around £100 to reseal it but why not phone your insurance company and speak to them.  They get customers trying it on every day and may just say the burden of proof is on the customer.

If the job is worth a bit along with others they will tell, perhaps it may be worth getting it fixed this time to foster good will, along with a waiver to say you won't be liable again.

I've gone through the seals at the ridge on conservatories twice...........no three times.......and all times the customer understood it was the seal and not my fault.  The first customer was my Accountant and she claimed on the conservatory garrantee, a local good company and they quite happily came out and fixed it.

Strange, today wfpd someones french door and it went all sort of rainbowy in between glass. Is this what you mean? am i in trouble now!?

I think I have come across every problem window you can have with WFP, but I haven't had that one yet!

I have had a soaked carpet after I had cleaned a half Georgian door, that din't go down very well so of course I now check the doors carefully on all accounts now, the same with the doors with the letterboxes on

It is always difficult when something like a seal on a window has gone, the water gets in because of the nature of the way we clean the windows, it isn't our fault the seal has gone, but you are on the back foot, and of course the customer will just think you are wriggling and trying to get yourself off the hook, and the more you protest, the worse it looks

Methinks I shall be printing out a leaflet extolling the virtues of Pure Water Cleaning, but shall also cover my a r s e  with a disclaimer with regards to seals on double glazed units, and a further note pointing out the fact that windows leaking like sieve's are something else I cannot be held responsible for. To be fair though, I always ask the customer before I start an acount for the first time if their windows are weather proof, and then explain that I will leave out any that let in water.

When I was cleaning windows the 'old fashioned' way, I have had customers try to blame me for scratching their windows, the fact that the painters have been in, rubbing down the windows with sandpaper never seems to hold water with them. Fell out with one big time when she wanted to claim off my insurance for new window panes, told them I would happily see them in court, and I was d a mned if I would submit a claim. they backed down when I handed them a piece of sandpaper and got them to sand down the window frame on the back of their garage-instant scratches-
Gave them my equipment and asked them to try and deliberately scratch the glass, even dabbed it in the dirt, result? not a scratch in sight
Needless to say, I felt smug, they looked stupid, and I lost the acount lol
They didn't get their new windows off me, that was for sure

Well this is what i think we should do:
Explain that before you use wfp on any of there windows if the selas are broken the liability is down to them because im sure even if you are insured you wont be covered for this.I looked at my insurance the other day from the fed in the small print is states that if you scratch glass with your equipment the insurance dosent cover it.But if the pole goes through the glass you are covered???who thought that one up..Any way ive been back to this customer and they are fine i think i was worying a little to much but obviously being a very respected business man himself didnt want to upset and with all the window cleaners with wfp and telling your customers how good a job it does dosent bode well when you have to tell them 100 lt of water has just gone through the seals and will probablly need replacing.So i think thats what i will be doing from now on.It only seems to happen on wooden windows and also fitted roof lights now the ones that turn round so beware.
