Just bought some new Ionic Cheapy poles, normally don't rate thier brush heads but have been getting on with them since buying these new poles. However after a few weeks of use they are starting to go real soft and deformed already! i think i will be putting the vikan heads back on soon.

Just wondering what everyone else thinks?

No!!!! not the vikans mate, why on earth would you do that.

Nothing comes close to match the Ionics brush for value and ability to preform, getting into the edges and tops and most of all allows the user to rinse brush on with them having no worries.

Vikans ok for mini-pole making mince meat of webs and snail trails etc, and on 18's there ok but any higher I wouldnt recommend it although some suppliers would still tell you diffrently wrong I know, but its "there tried and tested" method. Its out of line recommending there customers adopt there own bad habbits. Also the reason most of them sell Vikans is because they get them so cheap and think of nothing else other than the profit ££££££ not the poor guys back who will and is over time doing serious damage.

Veiws and opinions in this message are my own personal opinion, im sure alot of you have yours, I will say I know im not talking crap.

they seem good to me and we've had good results and quicker to use.

We use the vikan sill brushes, find them good!

Off is fine for poles up to 25ft max but still day in day out year in year out on 18ft and 25ft would cause some damage, without question.

Its fine to go off higer only if you have super-lite poles although there is no need mate, honestly. wait till some of the big faces come on here later they will tell you the same, providing you have the right brush technique and flow rate brush on is no diffrent at all, plus once you go over 30ft its a big no no to use your arms to operate poles its all about body tetechnique and to achive such a method of work practise is impossible without brush on for a few reasons.

be good to know the recommended technique, the cheap poles do flex alot around the 30-40 foot mark with the vikan heads but we've never had any issues.

Can't wait for the big boys come on here hope they don't bully us little people

Each man to himself Steve, I dont haven nothing against vikan users more the suppliers. I know they do the job just as good as I would with my lovley fresh double-trim monaflaiminent Ionics brush but its alot of work lifting poles off allday every day, bad habbits stay with people and ten years from now brush off's will certainly suffer more back problems than if they would having used them properly gauranteed.

good idea, i may do that this weekend when i got some time.  must admit the reason i like the ionic poles and brushes is they are light and thats why i've paid a little more for them over other cheap ones. I'm just stating that the vikan seem to last longer and the bristles keep thier shape.

I've been invited along to an Ionic roadshow today so i'll probably go to that and check out thier whole range and ask questions then.

Yea they dont last long and the vikans will go on forever, but they just dont come no were near for me anyway.

i don't think is anything speacial just at our local supplies shop for one day and you can try out the systems and poles

I started out with ionics poles and brush heads in feb this year but within a few months I had to change the heads as the ends became a mush of hair ( made it crap at getting into corners of window frames.
I changed the brush heads in june for vikam and so far have had no probs with them.
So for that reason I would say try Vikam!
 I should mention that I had to change the brushes on my 12' and 18' poles as these are the poles I use all the time. I have a 45' pole and it still has the original Ionics brush head which I use about 3 or 4 times a day.
The Ionics poles are good and strong but need a bit of TLC to keep them in top condition.

new to wfp. how do you rinse with the brush on? Do the nozzles come above the brush?

Hi Mark,

The jets are in the brush, I know it sounds odd because you have been told otherwise probably by a supplier, but providing you have the right brush and technique its no diffrent at all you will need quite a high flow rate. If you look at the water reaction on the glass the jets actually push out above the brush therfore there is no way of contamination plus Ionics brush stay clean well clean of impurities anyway.
