Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help me find some good bonnet cleaning chems.  In the past we have used splitter with charlys and the results have been ok.  However, i was wondering if anyone knew of a better bonnet cleaner?

It would be nice if they contained some kind of protector.

I have heard that rotobrite is good, but chemspecs site doesnt allow me access to the MSDS.  Do any of you have the MSDS for rotabrite? What do you think of it?

Is prochems bonnet cleaner any good?

Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated

Having read the MSDS, the bit about it containing a class 3 (possible) carcinogen to man is a little disturbing.

Prochems Bonnet-Buff seems similar, but doesnt appear to have an "anti resoil agent" although it does have a fluorinated surfactant. 

Anyways, peoples experiences are more valuable than lists of ingredients, so i think i will give rotobrite a try.

LM cleaning solutions can sometimes be a bit misleading when it comes to claims re. containing a protector. 

There are four basic groups of protector:

Soil Retardents: Repel dry soils only (often Cationic)

Silicone Stain Repellent: Resists water based staining only.

Flourochemical based: resists dry, water and oil based soil

Stain Resist Overspray: contains acid dye blockers and a flourochemical treatment as above. (Usually factory applied)

I can't report on most current formulations, but some years ago when I made specific  enquiries, the general rule was that shampoos and LM formulations containing protectors only had resistancy to dry soils, so offered no STAIN resistancy at all   I would advise making enquiries of your chosen products prior to "selling the concept" to your clients.

Going to try a different approach this week on a low profile nylon office job.Going to mist onestop then charley pad with  hot craftex catalyst mixture.

The catalyst should help the muck adhere more to the pad.
Im going to do a side by side test and take some pics.
Havent got a dog to take with me though

Was about to suggest looking at the Craftex option, also, the Texatherm products are pretty good.
