prices of big detached country houses
« on: October 02, 2006, 04:24:29 pm »
hi guys i have been doing quite a few 4 or five bed house with conservatories at the back and have been charging em £15.Seems a bit cheap but i am building a new round and don t wanna scare off customers.I know i will regret it later if i under price so i am trying to do my best. They are only taking me just over an hour tops for first time cleans so they will be quicker in the future i guess. So i don t know if i can get away with charging more. what do you reckon guys.I do a top job and wipe all the frames and uprights if they need it. ;)

Double your prices at the very least, and then charge extra for the conservatories! These kind of properties often have trouble getting a window cleaner so are usually prepared to pay a good price. I always work out a good price and then add some more, if they refuse the price you can always drop to the original price you worked out, these kind of people do not mind haggling if they need to. If you carry on quoting low prices you will regret it big time in a few months time! I was quite lucky when I first started as I built my round part time as I was doing a job where I worked shifts so had plenty of spare time to clean windows, and the good thing was that it didn't matter to me if I got the work or not so I priced high, and I was surprised to find that more often than not I still got the work :)

If everyone accepts your prices you are much too cheap! When I quote now I only expect to get about half of the jobs I price up, this is good as I only take on very well priced work, and after the first clean they are usually so pleased that they do not mind paying the extra! ;D

really...................! that is double what i am charging.I really must charge more for these peole i guess. Most of them are 8 weekers as well to add insult to injury.Guess you know what it is like when you first start out. Jobs seem so valuble as i really wanna make a go of it that i just don t seem to of had the confidence to price high. That must change now i have heard your opinion. Is it still the case as i said before they wont even take an hour after the first clean. ;)
