who phoned who up to come out to play sat ergh,I wasnt as rude as you to mention the firm [sorry Alex]none of my doing but while were on the subject , it was your experiment so why charge me £15 for postage when I sent it back £!2 including insurance this time, this pole melarky cost me about £42 in postage, admitted £15 was my fault,so now you all might understand my point of view, why oh why are we paying to much postage when clearly were being ripped off ,and the forsed  company is not on its own.FOR A TOTAL COST OF £42 I COULD AVE DRIVEN TO CORNWALL AND BACK TO PICK THE POLE UP MYSELF,

I am not defending the postage charges levied by some companies as I myself feel it is way over the top.

I guess their answer is they have to charge this to include the packaging and the labour time of packing and sending to the post office.

I do believe a better way forward would be to charge the postage at cost and perhaps increase the product by a minimal %, at least this way the customers perception of what is being charged for postage won't seems as costly and should items have to be returned this situation about charges wouldn't arise?

Gaza

if youve got a problem with a firm instead of hiding behind a vote put it on the forum, i havent heard one bad complaint about gardiner poles only 2 from you.  One being the postage and the other being the pole that split, i am in no way trying to put Alex down and i am not being rude to anyone my original post to you was a bit of tongue in cheek but if i have got anything to say,  i say it out loud not behind their back.  Postage is always expensive whatever firm you buy it from

Trev is spot on.

Companies will charge a set rate for the 'labour' involved in completing the transaction.

Don't get me wrong, it's appalling.

Like ive already said all companies are expensive on postage and if you mean Ionics yes they are expensive as i have said on here before.  I like their products so i pay a bit more, maybe 5 pound postage came as a bit of a shock to you as you never really order any equipment perhaps you should take some photos of your trolley, poles and the back of your van or would you like me to and put them on the forum. ;)  ;D

What i dont like is being made scape goat

I've not thrown my dummy out of the pram i have not got any complaints, i have got good equipment and top work 8) but always here to help you mate 8)
