poleman,

I dont think the cost is a problem, i think a decent fed would be worth £100.
I think the fed needs to listen to its criticism (which will always be there) rather than fight it to be brought up to a standard when we think it will be worth joining.

The Fed is a long established and well respected organisation, whose integrity has enabled them to represent the interests of working window cleaners
Certain people appear to think that they could do a better job, so my advice is simple, start your own window cleaners body/federation/union etc. and find out how much you are prepared to put in.

The fact that the Fed does not endorse any particular wfp systems is a sign of strength and demonstrates their impartiality, which can only be good for healthy competition.

Only you can decide that my friend.  My personal opinion is that any fed is better than no fed.

Its £50ish a year, thats not going to break the bank.
Why not give it a go for 1 year, and if you dont like it, you dont have to renew.

have a look at this topic as well,

http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Equipment;action=display;num=1081855025

and send for an information pack.  You'll get a couple of old fed magazine issues so you can get a flavour of what the fed is about.

In my opinion you should be pleased that the Fed has resources.

I would have thought they could earn more interest, but I have no idea of their Cash Flow on a weekly or monthly basis.

£50 seems very cheap to me.

I agree with Philip, only you can decide whether it`s worthing joining the fed or not. But it seems the people who criticise it are non-members. It`s the same with WFP systems, the doubters and critics have never used one.
I don`t think the fed would survive or its members continue to subscribe if they didn` t feel they gained any benefit from it. Would so many members be wrong ?

I`m not a fed member or WFP user, just open-minded about both.
