Matt,

I think your site is great too; it certainly helped me; not just with the kit, but with understanding the process.  (I subsequently found Alex G, Gardiner Pole's site, which is also excellent).

I know it's not rocket science, but unless it's explained, like it is at your site, then it's difficult to make sense of using a WFP and all the paraphanalia in the beggining.

Remember, I did make a donation, which you spent on pizza. ;)

Anyway, I think you did go through a phase of heavily advertising your thread here, which pee'd Mike off a bit.

I reckon if you just suggested in posts, where appropriate that they could be better off with a self-build option, and to e-mail you for further details; that'd work.

thank you tosh

thats what i want to hear off Mike, as long as he says "you can tell them to e.mail you" then thats what i will do

Matts site has played a big part in getting me into wfp and i personally think his link should be made available at all times , as i thought the idea of this forum is to help each other out.

Where do suppliers stand on this ? will they be able to mention their sites, as surely we all need help from various sources or is it one rule for one and one for another?

We are constantly being told not to work on ladders because they may be banned in the future so Matt help people afford to go wfp, everyone cannot spend thousands

This is just my opinion

thanks Matt

regards

Brett

Hey guys, why not let things rest.

Following last weeks problems this forum needs to settle and to adjust.

Comments were posted, preudices were aired ( unjustly in my opinion ) action has been taken and this site needs to back off and allow matters to settle.

Maybe a new direction is the future and the top management will make that decision but to keep banging on will not do the future of this forum any good at all.

This comment is posted in good faith in the hope this forum will regain the interest it had prior to recent problems. You only have to look how quiet it is now to gain an understanding of what is happening.

me to Jouk45
forums were originally made for free speech, this doen't seem to be the case here, this banning has upset a lot of members, most of the members know  were Matt's site is but for the benefit of the newbie's are they just going to be guided to the manufacturers and sponsors site's??????

Guys.

I can understand your sentiments regarding inormation being freely available. Especially to those who are new to window cleaning and in particular WFP's. I run a major window cleaning company myself but I well remember feeling like I was in a minefield a few years ago when I was researching the options available to me. There was far less info available at the time however it's now very different.

I have been doing a great deal of reading back-posts on this forum during the last week or so because I have a major decision to make and have found a lot of helpfull posts.

Bearing in mind the number of members of this forum it surely has to be the most used one here in the UK so I think that the site is doing a lot of things very well indeed. I found it on the net and am glad that I did. I therefore think that the site owners and moderators are doing us a great service probably at a considerable expense on terms of time freely given and of course the running costs.

I am absolutely sure that a ban is not made lightly and that there are very good reasons for it.

I think that this post and JohnL's are very apt.

Context of content in any post is relevant. I have seen many instances of uninvited comments and pushing of the site in question.

Perhaps this is what has led to this situation.

Also why not just email the site owner or a moderator for clarification?

That is what I would have done. Bringing this subject into the public domain is inflamatory and were I Mike I would see it as such and take appropriate action.

A belated welcome to the site Extremeclean. Hope to see you in the chat section in the future - you are most welcome.  ;)

Just to put you guys in the picture.  Mike is unavailable for a week and consequently there will be no replies for you on this topic until his return.  I do not Moderate this section but am sure that Ian and Trevor will ask him your questions and clarify the situation regarding Matts site and HIS rules about business promotion on this site.

In the meantime, please continue giving your invaluale advise to those who ask. IMO this is the best forum avaialble and made so only by you guys and your shared knowledge.

It would be sad if this forum followed the tone of others I have viewed as like many the willingness to share without malace ,bragging or arguing was what drew me in , and keeps me coming back.

If you need a bit of a pick me up - come visit us loonies in the chat section.  Only come if you are armed with jokes,a good sense of humour and enjoy a bit of banter - you have been warned.  ;)

Have a relaxing Sunday all,

Sarah

i thought on this, i brought it out in the open, as i have nothing to hide and neither has Mike, AND also so EVERY1 knows the rules, we have a few who direct people to the DIY site, if we have rules (i.e, e.mail me for a link) then we all know the score

In the past, things have been done by e.mails etc etc, i often e.mail Mike (well a few times, when i feel things that have been brought to my attention would benefit him)  and Mike will confirm this

just wanted every1 to know the rules

I strongly disagree with this. I go on 4 other forums and this site is the worst for malace, bragging and arguing. Cleaners also attack others about the smallest of issues, then when they can't fight their corner any longer they resort to attacking the posters spelling (or lack of it). Very childish behaviour.

I personally look in here because there are experienced mature cleaners who give excellent advice of which I am truly grateful for.

I feel that compared to other sites the Moderators in here are overreactive and unbalanced when dealing with issues.

Just my thoughts (I'll probably be banned now myself)
