what is your tap pressure - also make sure you have closed the flush valve and any prefilters and carbon blocks are in good condition.

Hi shawn
as you live south check the pressure in as some water companies are dropping the pressure at night help with the leaks you may need to install a pump to bring up the pressure or if your r.o are fouling up try flushing them for a couple of hours with pure water

Shawn,

4040 membranrs are rated for use at 100psi, anything less and you will reduce production rate & quality. If your water pressure is below 60psi you will probably need a pump or you will need to use de-min resin by the bucket load. Go and buy a preesure gauge and connect it to you water supply.

General: A 4040 is not always the best option if you have low water pressure. A pump that will give enough flow at a high enough pressure is expensive, we sell from £400 to £700 depending on the presure/flow required. Sometimes when you have low pressure is better to go for a system using domestic 1812 membranes whic can be powerd by much smaller pumps, take a look at our ARO400 at http://www.freshwatersystems.co.uk/series_lc.htm we have tested this unit on UK cold water with an input pressure of 30psi and a input TDS 320 and acheived 1200 litres per day at 6ppm.

You need flow as well as pressure. If you are expecting 3 or 4 litres per min of pure you will need a minimum input of 3 times that so 12 litres per min at 100psi. The small Flojet can do 100psi but no where near 12 litres per min.

i disagree as all our van mounts which are boostered  can achieve 4-5 liters aminutes from most water presures, it just takes a little bit of thought to replicate flow rate, we have been doing this on our systems for over three years now and they work fine and we use low presure 40x40

there are various pumps on market but youll have to spend reasonable money shawn

hope all is well, how to i replicate this flow rate and how much does a pump cost... ?

i used my 100psi shurflo to get the 1l a min.... but thats all it would do

you could try using the aquatec 240v 12ltr/min booster pump for the merlin from www.surecleansystems, its set at 70psi but will still give you 3/4ltrs/min pure, but as sair says pumps aren't cheap.
