roof scraping - scaffold tower

Hi Guys,
Im doing some roof scraping on a bungalow and hiring a scaffold tower. As its a bungalow, its only about 8 feet high max, someone said to me i need a licence to put it up!! Does anyone know the answer to this?
Im also using a biocide (rather than hypo) to treat the roof afterwrds, hopefully get rid of any remaining moss and lichens etc. and maybe bring some colour back in the roof.  Any advice on a decent product that you may have used would be appreciated.

Im asking on this section of the forum, (although its the window cleaning section), as im sure theres a lot of experience on here.....

You should probably have pasma training. As an employer you certainly should be providing it to employees as a sole trader, you’re arguably less liable.
It’s only a couple of hundred quid and it’s definitely worth learning the correct way to chuck a tower up.
It won’t be long before you won’t be able to hire a scaff tower without it.

Pretty good chance whoever is hiring you the tower will need proof you are qualified to erect it. Ask the hirers what the situation is regarding this.

Hss hire do a single man erection tower.
Around £120 a week.
Brill bit of gear and easy to put up.
Ps no licence  ;)

Assuming you have somewhere convenient to store it and adequate room in a van to transport it.
