Just to follow on from this , I know it’s faster from what iv heard to have one guy in each van (depending on your work) but what percentage of extra work can be done with 2 guys one can? If I could did £100 of work on my own in a day (for example not real figures) , how much extra would another guy add in a day to that £100?

yes... its about 40% extra.
At the moment I have my son with me until he goes to uni ...I am 51 and he is 20 and very fit.
It  is so much easier . He will be living at when he goes to uni, but wont be able to work as much . I will miss him

Yes I would say about 50% extra - ie.. for every £100 a single operator can do it would be bout £150 for a pair - general domestic window work.

However large jobs - gutter facing and bespoke works its very close to double

It will depend on the type of work we do a lot of large commercial so two guys in one van is how we work and they will each do very similar amounts of work , with domestic it’s very Siri say as it depends on the type of work we also have estates of houses ware we do the vast majority of houses and again each guy is doing 4-6 houses per hour , but if a lot of driving and doing one house hear and there then it will not be cost effective,

Actually most places ive worked supply tops/hoodys/fleece and let staff be responsible for the boots/trousers

Yes. Polo shirts, hoodies, water proofs, cool max socks, shorts, trousers, and (my personal favourite) Craghoppers trousers that can convert to shorts. In addition, gloves for the winter and any other PPE they want.

I’m not fussy about what trousers they wear as long as they’re smart. If they want slightly different workwear to what’s provided, it’s fine as long as it can be embroidered with the logo and looks smart. We pay for it all.

Yes all staff have polo shirts and jumpers with company name and phone numbers on them , high vis jackets and normal jackets

Anyone worked out how much a van costs to run (on average) for the month,  Inc insurance, say a small to medium van, fuel etc etc. I would then work back from there to see if an extra person adds up....no real point if your not making any extra money!! (After wages paid etc)

Theses figures will vary from person to person you might only drive 50 miles in a week others might do 400 per week ,and the  same is true of all other expenses as well , it it wasn’t viable people wouldn’t do it .

I think if your going to employ your first one , then there is going to be a period of time where you are both smashing through the work what you used to do on your own so you are going to be earning less to begin with but you’ll gain time in which you can build more work
