Not quite windowcleaning related.
« on: March 17, 2023, 09:28:51 pm »
Customer of mine went for a walk a couple of days ago and tripped over an electric cable (black) trailed across the pavement to an electric car. Resulting in both wrists broken and face smashed, hell of a mess.
We should obviously have public liability in place to cover us (plus bright hose and warning signs).

Do you reckon she could claim on the persons house insurance?

Very relevant to window cleaning as we all run hoses.

Use a warning cone or three!

Biggest lesson she's learnt is pay attention when your out for a walk for your own safety. She wasn't staring at a mobile phoe when it happend or sending an email while walking was she?

I don't mind spending an extra ten seconds to put a cone out and retrieve it when necessary.

Especially when on commercial sites and high traffic areas.

That’s the whole point of H&S time must be taken to do a risk assessment and then implement the action that needs to be taken , you don’t have to write it down unless you employ more than 5 I think it is , but not doing a risk assessment will bite you on the bum if so gives wrong and not using cones well that’s irresponsible , if you do commercial work they should be asking you for RAMS  , think you have just started employing someone?. Do you not expect them to work in a safe manner ? Lead by example it takes seconds to put out a handful of cones then you have shown that you are at least trying to avoid accidents

A few years ago we did 3000 houses for a client. They weren’t happy with hoses, had to do them all with backpacks!

Wish I had clients. I’ve only got customers so far.
