I have had problems with spinning sections for the last few months.

Ive re-glued them but one came loose again on Monday. I repaired it but it's gone again today.

At this point can I just buy new sections from gardeners and the clamps or is it time for a new pole?

Are you using epoxy resin glue and are you rubbing the section down slightly before re glueing it.

I used to find once they come adrift a few times it was best to cut off the first 30mm or pole so you can glue on a fresh piece - as said give it a sanding for a ‘key’

Best glue for me - superglue GEL - fills the void better and doesn’t run all over the place

Remove clamp sand inside the clamp and scratch it up with a sharp knife , sand the end of the pole section with a fine sand paper rinse clamp and pole with methylated spirits to remove dust and dirt alow ti dry off fir a couple of muinits ,re glue with a two pack apoxy glue it will never come off again  none of ours have doing this .

Gardiners used to supply their own two pack glue a few years back. Can’t remember what it was but it was less brittle than most epoxy and superglues.

I have used superglue and tbh it does last with the gel as long as you give it a generous covering.

Wrap electricians' tape around the clamp and just below the clamp as a temporary measure, will last for a year or two.

You need to prepare the pole & clamp properly & use two part epoxy resin. Job done.

I’ve done it many times on many different sections over many years. You don’t need to cut anything off or buy a new section.

Wrap a bit of insulating tape on the top of the section and push the clamp on or even bash it on with a bit of wood.
It won't come off
I've got a few joints fixed like this, they've lasted years!

I’ve used the electrical tape method (without hitting it with a piece of wood😳) as a ‘get me out of trouble’ method as recommended by Alex Gardiner.

Of course you can just buy a new section if you want.only you know how worn your pole is!

I would just buy a new pole...

Put your old one on ebay it will probably fetch 200 notes.

The electrical tape method others have mentioned works a treat for us too. Been using it for years.
