Occasional spots on hydrophobic glass
« on: September 06, 2022, 10:28:04 am »

Hoping this image shows up 😂, noticed that on my window that im getting spots coming up and its really bugging me cos im thinkong if its spotting on my window it might be on customers, few things i take into account tho is my windows are extremely hydrophic, even with fan jets the water just doesmt seem to spray down at all no matter what i do, i hsve dodgy seals so thag sometimes makes marks, there leaded and they are old windows, so admittedly they are difficult ones i also have trees right in front of these windows so npt sure if that makes a difference with pollen etc, im probably fussing over nothing and answered my own question in the description about the windows lol any advice would be welcome, my flow is at about 2 litres a min so dont think flow would be the problem

I’d be more worried about the number of fingers you have 😮

WFP doesn’t do a perfect job all the time on every window over the years the complaints are down to the customer,if every job we did was checked daily we’d be in trouble there’s not many jobs that we all drive off from we can guarantee  a spotless finish.
I wouldn’t worry about the odd spot you probably do leave the odd few on most jobs like I say,you just notice it more on you’re own house coz it’s looking at you lol.

It’s all about minimising the mistakes on the glass light poles good brushes and hot water do this but it’s still not a guarantee 100%,really problematic windows I have that are afternoon just back from work South facing get done with a mop and blade the time of year we are now coming in to.

If you go back and just clean and rinse the glass, what happens? Don't get any water on the top frame.

Some windows spot and some don’t no matter how you clean them frames first let em dry then go back etc makes no difference.

Rinse slowly with low pressure and good flow? What happens then? Or just clean the glass?

We have a customer who has since replaced all windows who we had this same issue with. Our water was at zero and the glass would spot. Yet any rain water hitting the glass didn't spot. I could never figure it out.

She did say that the glass was supplied with a special coating, so we put it down to that and just bladed the lower glass windows to prevent the spots. Her windows had a slight tint.

No issue now with a change of glass.
