window cleaner called at my house
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:59:13 pm »
Hi,

I live in a 3 bedroom end of terrace house & tonight a window cleaner knocked at the door offering to clean the windows on a monthly basis for £10, . We snapped him up as it is only the second window cleaner to call in 12 years. He was presentable & likable saying he would call us in a few weeks to let us know when he would call adding that if we were out we could send him a cheque.

On reading his card tonight he calls himself PDS Cleaning Services of Essex. I live in Surrey which is the other side of London to Essex.  A long way to travel to clean windows?

I think you'll find that PDS will sell the work for £40.00. They are really expensive. I got all the details for buying work from them, they offered payment schemes which sounded ok. When I called them they werent interested in payment schemes instead all they did was try to find out if I had inhereted any money & try a bank to get a loan from. When I mentioned that on paper they offered payment schemes they said that it was just to grab attention they wouldnt really do it.
They are a nice enough comapny to talk to but Pat who runs it was a w/c until he found there was more money in selling rounds than doing them. From what I heard he makes regular trips to spain to play golf or he did anyway.

Hi,

The answer to your question JM123 is.

1.During the 12 years I have not had a window cleaner I cleaned them myself a couple of times a year.
 2. I can afford to pay someone £10.00 a month.

A couple of times a year???  Mine get done once a week!!

Takes half an hour wfp - suppose I'd be better spending that half an hour doing someone elses - but then again I can have a beer doing my own ;D

No its not a castle/palace.  Loads of glass everywhere, can do it in 20mins but I like to stop for a sip of bass as I'm doing it.

Mine takes 10 mins wfp, if its not a castle/palace, must only be a mansion.
