Grey metal frames.
« on: March 08, 2022, 04:20:23 pm »
These new grey metal frames don't seem to leave as good a finish as the plastic ones do. Does anyone have a solution?

It’s all about the seals and how well they’ve been put in the ones that don’t seem to cause problems are the ones with almost hidden seals, some bi fold doors I’ve seen people have had fitted are terrible quality they are basically metal with the thick rubber seals they used to fit 25 years ago 10mm over the edge that will just rot and start to leach black liquid in a few years.
I can’t remember the  name at the moment but there’s a German company that make these windows and they are top  quality as is the glass, customers gardener went over stones with mower and shattered one £2500 just for the glass most of these metal windows you see on houses are a cheap imitations.

You may have to dab the water off the top frame with the brush head, then rinse just below the rubber seal on the glass.
Its the water sitting on the rubber seal at the top of the window, then dripping onto the glass, this causes the drain marks.

I avoid the top frames on ground floor grey windows and use a cloth instead(then rinse just below the frame)....problem solved.....its usually the modern bi fold doors that can be a problem
price higher/work harder!

depends on how much is behind you on that photo - but from what's in the picture about 4 maybe 5 hours for a single operator
