Flushing my RO
« on: July 16, 2006, 02:18:46 pm »
Just setting up system for first time . Looks pretty self explanatory it is a RO-MAN unit. Just a bit puzzled   the instructions say you should flush the filters through first time & at least once a week. Is it just a case of turning the blue switch which is situated in between the green pipes or do you have to do something a little more involved.Would of put some pics on but batteries need charging in camera.

Hi Paul,

On the unit you have it is just a matter of turning the blue valve to flush and let it run for 5-10 minutes it is as easy as that.

Hi Alex that's great. I'm also having problems connecting my clear   hose (that you supplied) to the red pipe on the RO unit. Kirsty has given me some connectors but they still seem too big to fit over the small red pipe even with a jubilee clip. Sorry i'm a bit thick on things like this.

If you ordered a system form us which I think you did, you should have had a RO-tap connector with the kit, it should look like this

One end connects to your tap the other allows the red pipe to just push in.

If you ordered a vehicle system you should have the bottom half of this unit which will allow the red pipe to push in and have a 1/2" hose barb on the other for your 1/2" hose to fit to.

Hope that this helps

Alex,
I don't have anything like that inside the box. I have put the red pipe inside the hose & put a jubilee clip on it & it seems to have done the trick. Not sure if this will cut down the water pressure, what do you think.

Give Kirsty a ring on the office number today and I'm sure she will sort it out. The solution you have is not ideal, although if it works great.
