a number of my clients are enquirying about inside cleans.  Any tips guys? obviously i dont want to be soaping up and getting the curtains and carpets wet,  does anyone have a particular way that they approach such requests?  I expect this to be heavy on the scrim side of things. 

Any advice / product guidance /   pricing help would be great.

(Im assuming inside cleaning of windows should cost the same as the outside??)

Hi Grant,

To clean insides just make sure you keep your applicator against the glass to catch the water as you blade off. Then just blade the last few inches and wipe off with a cloth. If your new to this I would suggest a towel on the floor just to be on the safe side!

As for pricing, I charge the same again for insides if not 50% more to compensate for clearing off window ledges etc.....

Use less water on your applicator.  Keep a big scrim to put your bucket on.
I charge same price as for outsides.  Only charge extra for internal glazed doors etc.
Don't get complicated.  Usually do insides quicker because no crud on glass unless they smoke....They pay extra then.

A couple of my customers actually thought i could wfp insides, : yes i know its unbelievable but they were serious.  I was gob smacked 

I think this is a topic for another post because i bet im not the only one whos been asked to wfp inside somebodies house

i normally charge the same for insides but before i start the job i ask politely if they would mind taking anything off the sills to avoid damage(i would charge more for the glazed doors etc too)

I normally use a huck towel, scrim and a water spray filled with pure water.

I'll spray the 1st window and wipe it with the huck towel then go onto the next one.
Once i've done the 2nd window i'll go back to the 1st and buff it up with the scrim.

I find this works well for me and with a lot less risk of getting water everywhere.

I always ask them to move any ornament out of the way before i start and always take my shoes off.

I was surprised how many people comented when i took my shoes off.

It shows them that you respect their house i think.

I usually add 50% on to the price of the outside clean just to clean the inside.

And what if something fell onto your feet? You would have no protection at all. If they ask me to take of my shoes I refuse to do the insides.

I have a second applicator for insides because the normal one is too wet.
Use a mix of pure water and sqeegee off in a spray bottle and always put down a towel.

Inside windows can be covered in very thin greasy film. Espesially around kitchen and open plan areas near the kitchen.

I always say I will only do the insides if somebody stays with me so I can't get accused of knicking anything.

Don't take your shoes off buy overshoes to slip on.
