I don’t know what kind of temperature you are talking about but I touched 1 of my windows yesterday south facing and it felt very hot.

Glass does conduct heat though.
Not as well as metal but glass does get hot.
Cooling the window first does work.

It does Griff but it would take a lot more than a hot day to make a noticeable if any difference, Iv done this boiling pan full of water next to my finger pushed onto the hob party trick with my induction hob a few times, it amazes people who don't know that glass is a poor conductor of heat.

I didn't say you couldn't touch the glass; I said it's harder to clean.
