R O 40/40 . IONICS PRICE
« on: March 05, 2020, 12:40:44 pm »
Every were seems to sell the R O 40/40 for about £225. +vat. Ionics are a different size( smaller) , what do they charge, a whopping £450. + vat. Although I have a ionics system I have managed to change all filters to the standard size. I won't be dealing with them anymore.  How can any company be so arrogant to think they can charge more than anyone else. There loss!

Lovely looking stuff some of it but very over engineered tbh for what it needs to do.

To be fair , quality does vary with ro filters and Ionics seem to be high quality .

My last 20inch RO membrane that i got from GrippaTank never worked that well and lasted just over a year .

About two years ago I bought a van with a pro6 thermopure system already in it , I removed the RO membrane ( which actually has green algae on the membrane inside the sealed tube )  and bern using for two years and still producing 12tds from around 280 tap .

There filters are made by axeon in the US. Ionic did a deal with them to make 35 inch membranes just for them, meaning if you buy their system you can only buy replacement filters from them, thus creating the repeat business. Nothing wrong with that, but unfair after trapping you in to charge double for a smaller membrane.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

Easy to get round it if you’ve had enough of paying there prices just do what I did for a fellow WC,just re route after tank to a DI job done.
The piping that connects all the filters on the frame can be left in place so you don’t need to drain the water out of them.
