why is it spinning ?

clamps run out adjustment due to section wear ?

I bought an `18 phantom on black friday but apart from they look a bit snazzier than an slx i dont see any other reason to buy one over a gardiners next time out.

time will tell though

The pole section has worn.
This is worst when the pole is collapsed for doing ground floor window.

You should vary where you clamp each section,  especially section 1. If you are fully collapsing your pole you are clamping on the same point each time so this will then become a weak point and will be prone to spinning. You should be using a couple of inches for clamping near the base section, rising to 3-4 inches for the first section.

Gotta be a wind up. Do you really need permission from your wife before you buy an essential piece of equipment for your business?

The pole section has worn.
This is worst when the pole is collapsed for doing ground floor window.

All poles will do this.

My gardiners extreme started to wear like this after only 6 months or so...

I found a solution by putting a turn of insulation tape just below each clamp section.

Once the tape starts to wear then replace it.

This has slowed the wear rate down massively.
