I would have thought the amount of training needed to service a webasto is minimal. Any decent mechanic should be able to do it.

The term "Webasto trained engineer" makes it sound much more complicated (therefore expensive) than it really is.

Correct , they are pretty simple and i fitted a new burner, glow pin and flame sensor on my old one , slightly fiddly but not at all complicated.

fair play.........great if your handy with things like that,i bet you ve changed brake discs and pads on your vehicles over the years too and other basic mechanical jobs........i wouldnt even attempt it myself....
You could probably get your mechanic to service your Webasto (assuming you can buy a kit from webasto with the bits you need). He fixed your diesel leak and I would think they are less coplicated than an engine.

I used to do all my own servicing and repairs on vehicles but i dont bother so much nowadays , brake pads and oil changes etc are so cheap at a kwik fit type place nowadays there is not much saving anyway .
