Heavy soiling

this is after cleaning its a mate's living room , tar oil /grease , he used to be a road worker. Is there anything that can remove it pre spray wise? Tried oil remover as a spottet and it lifts it slightly , but a large area in front of sofa and chair

It might be best to try a gel to remove the oil. Heavy use of liquid solvents will most likely result in delamination of the carpet.
Try this from Restormate -

You would want to agitate it into the stains and leave it to work as per the label and rinse with hot solution.

I have some oil remover gel from John but it didnt work, i spoke to him on fb and he has something to try. Will get it next time I go as no rush for re clean

put white spirit in a spray bottle , spray it on ... extract straight away with warm water and a bit of detergent in your extractor ( hopefully u have an extractor ) ... repeat til gone

Craftex Multisolv prespray, agitated in with 15 mins dwell time, extracted with something like F90 should sort it.
