We are with Nat West the fees are around £7 per month plus a bit for transactions.  I don’t see the problem really as all Bank Charges are an offsettable business expense?

I guess it depends on whether you’re taking hundreds or thousands of small payments, or a few large ones each month.

Currently with the Clydesdale (Yorkshire) bank.

My 25 months free is about to end, it'll be £600+ p/m so if they're not willing to negotiate I'll be moving. Again. 

Santander is £15 a month or something, but it's a pretty basic service.

I had problems with santander in the past (they paid all my staff twice for some reason).

The Bank of Scotland (Halifax for you lot) looks like a good option.



My only issue would be cheques, I got 343 of them in July. Been meaning to phase them out anyway....

It was. Their internet banking was broken so I had to phone them up to make the wages payments, they paid every one twice. I could see it online but couldn't sort it, I phoned them again to let them know it was happening and was told they'd fix it. They didn't.
