Alternatively, if you don't use hydrogen peroxide, let it work and then rinse it off. It works too!

Cold water first. Its quite often all that is needed to remove the stain. It wont remove the germs though!

Bicarbonate Of Soda works well, mix it with water so it forms a thick paste and then cover the stain. Leave it for an hour, then use a towel to gather it all up. Once it's dry, get your hoover out to pick up any remaining powder.

As the blood stains are old, scrape a dull knife across the carpet fibres to remove as much as possible flecks of dried blood. Wet the stain with a mixture of 3% hydrogen peroxide and cold water. Let it air dry completely. Mix 3 teaspoon of mild liquid detergent and 1 cup of water. Spray on the affected area and let sit for 10 minutes and then blot dry. Apply a mixture of 1 tablespoon ammonia and 1 cup of water. Let sit five minutes, then blot dry again. Ammonia is highly effective but may discolour the carpet and damage it. So alternatively, you can call a professional carpet cleaning company to deal with the stains instead of you for better.
