Airlock
« on: March 05, 2018, 06:27:59 pm »
I think I may have some sort of airlock, been struggling all day with a decent flow rate, I have 350 upright going into a 11 litre di vessel then onto shurflow 100 psi and flow controller, normally when I fill my van in the evening the next morning the first 2-3 minutes will be abit  slow then picks up to normal flow, today it hasn’t happened every time I turn the flow controller up it just doesn’t change and every now and then it spits and splutters any ideas why guys
Cheers

Unclip your hose from pump to hose reel and then turn your pump up.
Leave the hose from pump to reel hanging out the van so it’s lower than the pump to help the water suphon.

Might take around 30seconds but if it’s an airlock it’ll soon go.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

I’ve just re read this, try putting your DI after the pump rather than before, it’ll cause you less potential problems.

(I used to have my DI in van, and found the pump often struggled to draw water though it)

Cheers for all the advice guys, I have tried a few things but still not getting a good flow, I have bypassed my vesssel and it’s now working fine but my water is 010 so want it to go through the vessel, I have inspected the vessel and all seems ok I took it all apart and put it back together switched it on and it started to work fine for about 5 minutes then back to really rubbish flow, I’m guessing it’s the vessel but what could it be???? Any ideas cheers

How high are your pumps in the van?

I had problems when I first set up my van system because I'd put the pumps a few feet up from the van floor.

The advice I was given was the put the pumps close as I can to the van floor, which I did, which solved my air lock problems.
