5000 Ordered.
« on: January 06, 2018, 05:16:58 pm »
So then, here it starts. 5000 flyers ordered at my local print shop all to be delivered around the 3rd week in January.

First time i have actually paid to have flyers printed, i have always done a 100 at a time off my laser printer.

These are temporary flyers, as the new logo design is now very much underway. But i have targets to hit and i need at least 13 new customers this month!

I tried having some delivered on 2 occasions.

First time was 5k and second time 8k

both different companys

results were disappointing on both occasions. out of the 8k i had put out i only got about half a dozen customers

When ive delivered them myself ive had slightly better results, about 2-3 per 1000, i dont know if thats because they went out solo or because a lot never got delivered.

but i dont have much faith in leaflets now.

Ive found better bang for buck on facebook ads and i also pay for canvassing.

I have a batch of canvassing being done in a couple of weeks and im going to start back on fb tomorrow.

Im starting the hunt for 400 customers, currently have 300 and i want to hit 400 by May 1st, 500 by Sept 1st and 600 by end 2018. 1st Employee to be taken on around March - April hopefully.

I am delivering them myself and canvassing myself.

Its all go. Im actually starting on the canvassing tomorrow, primarily going to properties i used to clean but dont because they moved.

There are about 30 of these which will get me warmed up for this year.

Fair do`s

Id rather just concentrate on cleaning, but i hate canvassing, happy to pay others, it reduces my tax bill   ;)

Lol too right..

I quite enjoy canvassing. I will be doing it all year, sunday mornings around 11am  are very productive and in the early summer evenings are golden times.

I dont trust canvassing companies. I like to have complete control over the canvassing at the sharp end.

Ok so the 1st stage starting tomorrow morning is to go back to all the properties that i used to clean but had sold, or moved away and re-introduce myself. There are 51 properties on the system where the owner moved away/sold ranging from 2017 all the way back to 2009.  The combined revenue value of these properties is  £7,290 which is a good starting point.

The idea is to knock and introduce myself in person and hand them a letter. (post it through if no answer)

I have a standard letter that has been personalized by way of a mail merge, it reads dear sir/ madam ....etc..i provide a well know window cleaning service in the local area..etc..we used to clean for...(customers name)...and the price was (agreed price at the time)

if you would like us to add you.....etc etc etc..

I have never done this before, usually when the customer moves on i leave it, i don't go back and re-introduce myself as i always have enough new signups vs people moving away and cancelling. But since its been around 5 years since i have done any really intensive pro-active canvassing i'd though its a good place to start.

Second, all the ones i have mobile numbers for the moved away customers, i am going to do a similar thing via text message, i used to clean your windows in xxx, would you like me to re-quote you for your current property?

so thats the start of stage 1.

Why would you go round canvassing/leafletting jobs you ve sold on?

Once I've sold work I never go back. Or has the cleaner you sold the work too abandoned it?
price higher/work harder!

I think he means the owner has sold their house and so there’s new occupants in the house, mate.
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

Yeah.

Not work i have sold. Its customers who sold thier houses and moved on.

Just come back and i have 3 new customers, and 5 potentials. Only done just under a 3rd of the total so far.
