Foam generator

Hi
Anyone know the workings inside a foam generator? I've bought a Nilfisk one as below. It was new old stock - it turns on and there is air coming out of the solution tube but no foam. I am guessing the pump isn't pumping but i'm not sure exactly how they work.
https://www.nilfisk.com/en-lb/products/Pages/product.aspx?pid=11294A&ppp=true
I can just take it back and get a refund or i can keep it at a discount and try to fix it but without knowing anything about the guts of them i'm not sure whats best.
Any info would be great.

There’s a one way valve that gets clogged up you could take away the valve to see if it then flows shampoo? The valve is to stop shampoo being sucked into the generator (compressor)

Are you putting it on to a rotary and which one? It’ll be interesting to hear about your findings.

Yes mainly for a rotary and may find uses for upholstery.
I've managed to be able to get it to fit my Numatic no problem - give it a whirl soon.
Should be great for encapping
