I don't mean that so much.

What I meant was that if you're VAT registered you're raking it in.....by charging too much!

All in good jest honest! ;)

On the point about prices they do vary from area to area. I,ve seen posts basically saying you can get whatever you want. Perhaps you can but your area will be a very big one with work all over the place. There is a max price that any particular area will stand and if you go above it you will get dumped a lot and not get much work in the 1st place. A well (realistacally priced) compact round will earn more than one very highly priced one thats all over the place.

You will also get much more recommendations if your prices are reasonable. Of course there are some very cheap WCers out there who will be half or less of your price... ignore them and do not be tempted to drop your prices to their level.

I quoted a house (£20) today to find out her old window cleaner used to charge her £7!!!!!!!!!!! Even though he has given up she had it in her mind that's what she should be paying, absolutely NO WAY!! Best bit was he had her and her 3 neighbours, identical houses. In the end I managed a group deal of £14 each. So, beware, he may wander down to your new job and probably would charge £15 the idiot! Why do people charge such stupid money and ruin it for the likes of us, god they make me mad  >:(

Trevor, how can you justify reducing your quote from £20 per house to £14?
Unless you were (no offence intended) trying it on.

The reason I reduced my price was all 3 said they would use me if the price was more reasonable. I can clean all 3 houses if I park my van in the middle as my hoses will reach. The only reason I have agreed financially is down to the fact that with pole fed i will be much quicker. The £20 price is what I would charge with ladders and if I didn't have WFP I would have turned the work down. I can comfortably clean all 3 within an hour so financially it works within our hourly rate.
