Website and general start up
« on: October 23, 2017, 05:34:18 pm »
Hello guys
I have just done my training with cleansmart and I have my equipment I have done no jobs yet but going to practice on friends and familys carpets.
I was wondering on how important a website is and how much I should be spending on this. I have put my details into some sites and I guy rang up saying he could get me in the top page of google and design me a good website etc. Would normally cost £499 upfront but it will be no charge upfront and £78 a month to manage and a 12 month contract.
Was wondering what you guys think of this help needed.
I am from Newcastle.

Could be a good idea to say where you are from Paul as many wont answer until you do.

Will you own the website & domain name? Or will you be paying £78 a month for ever?

I always  recommend my mate Mark at dp design he will do you a basic, nice looking website at a good price, he often gets slagged off as he uses the same design  for most carpet cleaners but unless there’s another of his sites in your town then it doesn’t matter.

I would be weary of people promising top page of google no one can gaurentee that.

You do need a website even if it doesn’t rank on google as you need to list it on your marketing, so people can read further information about you.

Not to sure to what I would own but he did say a 12 month contract. I also believe he is working on behalf of yell as he has just sent me an email. Has your friend got an email or number I could contact him.

Yes makes sense thanks for the response.

I am not yet familiar with Google adwords.
I'll have to look into this also.

Thanks

I agree with this, carpet cleaners don’t need an expensive, award winning website just a nice looking one that does the job. And website are just a small piece of a marketing strategy thinking all you need is a website is a mistake

We have a Tilemaster day next Friday. Our next Carpet Cleaning course will likely be in February as everyone is entering their bust periods now. First one will be advanced stain removal. We are also hoping to have a Carpet/Rug repair and re-colouring course.
