He's proved nothing more than he's a lucky sod, I think we would all love to be surrounded by crappy dishonest shiners enabling
us to double our prices, in the real world most people want honest at a reasonable price and don't have too far to look to find it.

Given that the bathroom window story happened in Sale, the one I mentioned above happened in Southampton and, in her lifetime, my Mum sacked several windies in Sheffield, I think luck has nothing to do with it.

There are terrible windies everywhere (I bet everyone on here could name one). The way we advertise all the time means we pick up customers from those idiots.  Then we work hard not to lose them.

You've made this claim before Sean. You've told me we have no competition.   And you're still wrong.

Luck? My arse.

Vin

Get a grip on yourself Vin with the prices you guys can demand I'm sure you have plenty of competition infect as Iv said
before the only thing that surprises me is why your area isn't saturated with guys fighting over the work.
Your in a well paying area and as you have admitted surrounded by crappy shiners, if that's not luck what is.

I mis-read that initially, for a brief second I thought Sean had pulled.

Obviously you have as good a work ethic and business sense as Vin so why aren't you getting his prices ? do you actually know what your agreeing to ?

I've done windows twice - especially those downstairs - when I'm "in the zone".  :-[

Just not thinking and on autopilot. Even done the side of a non-customer neighbour's "square" bay which was very close - from the garden of my custy!  ;D

I've missed windows by accident too. Got an angry answer phone message a couple of winters ago from a guy with a big extended old farmhouse where I did all the windows but missed the two downstairs on the gable end (I did the ones above them, go figure) and one of these was the kitchen side window in front of the sink. (Schoolboy error!)

He told me he didn't appreciate me putting a slip through and not cleaning his windows.

I phoned him back and it turned out I'd missed two out of about twenty and a conservatory. Just went back and did them in the morning and he apologised for accusing me of doing none. Shook hands and that was it - back in love again!
It's a game of three halves!
