I  think Marc Stock would agree that not all of the south east is that high with window cleaning prices. I know he lives in possibly the wealthiest area outside London.  Farther out, the prices seem to drop a bit.  Other than some semi-charity jobs I do and a few longer-term customers who could do with a hefty increase, I set my current minimum at £14.  I do tend to skate around the older, cheaper jobs more quickly though as I'm less bothered about losing them.  Never had any complaints about it.

Yes I agree Walter. Although I wouldn't label it as the most wealthy...
For the majority...its a bit of a farce tbh.

Yes it's very expensive where I am, and there are a lot of people in a large amount of debt with average mortgages of three quarters of a million. Whilst their houses may look impressive and their 2 month old mercs and beemers sit on the driveway and do 900 miles a year....they pretty much spend all their disposal income on maintaining this illusion of importance.

I have a few actual wealthy customers and trust me it doesn't matter where you live the ones with REAL wealth don't splash it about on PCPs and mortgages.

I had one customer who since moves back to France. She lived in the st Georges hill estate, that was true wealth, the sort who wears green gardeners quilted jackets and hand made LEATHER wellies...she had this fleet of b reg  jags and rolls right from new
...imaculate condition..matinaned at no expense spared..i remember when they bought a new range rover..they sent it back within 3 months

She comes to me one day asking if I could quote for another property they had purchased...im like yeah thinking it's a normal house perhaps in weybridge..
No it's another mansion on the estate that they bought outright for 7.4 million (back in 2004) which included lifetime membership to st Georges hill golf club. They rented it out for 2 years after that for a cool 17 grand a month.

If I had the choice id move to a cheaper area. Quite a few of my customers over the last 10 years have  had enough and moved to the Midlands as it's getting too expensive even for them.

Im lucky my rent is a reasonable figure, been in this property for 9 years nearly. Next door rent and they are paying over 1.5k a month in rent, and that's good. On average a decent  3 bed semi to rent here is £2300 a month now plus 200 a month council tax almost..

It's a rip off here..

I have a minimum where I am there are still people cleaning 4 bed houses for 15-18 quid but I wouldn’t touch em at those prices,I’ve taken on stuff like that at a minimum of 25 but it’s literally 15-20 minutes per house travelling between jobs like that at low prices eats up your day. Saying that though it would have to be 3-4 houses like that of that smaller size within the same road with next to no moving of the van for it to be worth it,if you can’t get what you want elsewhere I don’t see the point in even taking it on tbh. I was at this very large estate the other day I had a phone call and pulled over to take it 4 people came out to ask me for a price so there is still work out there and they must have been being cleaned at some point,I like these type of jobs it means I can almost double the price due to the fact they’ve been let down coz the last cleaner was to cheap and people accept that fact in my experience.

If you are getting an average of 25 right across the board on all your domestic work you should be doing very well but it takes years of sorting wheat from chaff, estate work if not priced correctly will eat into your average price over the course of a month I think a lot of WCs are starting to realise this with lots of people all of a sudden requiring a new WCleaner.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Aye scotland is a lot cheaper. The average house is £5/6 and some bigger cottages are still under 10 .  It's just the market up here.
But I suppose we are a lot harder up here than you Nancy's down South and it's colder obviously. :-(
Might move dwn South one day and live like a a king, haha

You mean the small part of Scotland where you work is cheap? It's like saying England's prices are great.... have you seen some of the parts of England? Daz gets a good wage in Manchester, however, some parts of Manchester I wouldn't walk alone in broad daylight!! Scotland is a big place with plenty of wealthy people residing in it!!
