Customers ringing at silly times
« on: August 25, 2017, 07:32:43 am »
Had a phone call last night at 8pm asking for a gutter cleaning quote and a different one at 6:57am this morning which I didn't pick up. You would think people would call during office hours!!
Anyone else get phone calls at silly times ?

Receiving a text that time in the morning doesnt always mean that it was sent at that time.
Ive sent texts to my wive before in the morning when shes been in the house with me and they havent gone through to her phone until late afternoon. (Yes ive been with her all day (not saying the nature of the text) and was with her when the text finally came through!!  So its not that she didnt see it till late etc)
Sometimes the messaging centre must be back logged or something..

Or another time i sent my txt to customers for gates and one number is a land line whichni send a text to. I tried to send it at 8pm and i got a text back saying
"Cant send a text past 7pm as it may disturb the person your are calling. It will be scheduled for after 7am the following morning"

I turned up at 9 and customer wasnt happy! Turned out it sent it to the house phone at 6am!!!     Dont figure 😯

Depends what you think is a daft time.  I don't mind up to about 10pm and after that if I don't want to be disturbed then I'll put it on silent.

7 in the morning for a call is a bit early I'd say no calls before 8.

Text messages don't bother me at all. Why would I care if someone texts me at 11pm I don't have to reply it's hardly intrusive. Couldn't care less if somone texts me anytime I'm either awake or I'm asleep.

That's the problem with texting. No guarantee it will get there in a timely manor.

I had a phone call at 2:30am once!

It was obviously a wind up as the caller was clearly under the influence!

I save every number I receive, so unless it's a new call I know who it is and can decide whether to answer or not.

Just had one now.

10pm on a Sunday night.  :o

3 calls one after the other same mobile number. Didn't answer it.

Then they sent me a snotty text " can you do the pressure washing job tomorrow" you said you would do it last week! But obviously haven't bothered"

No i said I would let you know when I could do it.

Wish I never agreed to the job, it's literally. 5 mins job to blast some poope off the front of her house.

Don't give them your mobile number or turn it off at 5pm.

I check for messages at 8am and respond to them at around 10am if needs be.

Go into settings and put your phone onto quiet hours or do not disturb, set your days and times and you can set priority or break through numbers in case someone is about to die or something.
Had one at 1230 last weekend wanting a quote for gutter clearing with a street name but no number, he'd text couple of months before for another address with no number. He then texted at 1030 Wanting the price and needs it done now. Told him fully booked and he still wanted the price! I reckon I get asked for quotes from f***wits that don't know what to charge. Hence the no house number.
