Employing workers

Hi All,
For those on here that are employing staff can you tell me how you deal with poor weather?
Do you send the lads out in all weather regardless or do you give them the days off and then ask for them to play catch up?
I am starting to think about expanding so I am looking at the numbers and doing some forward planning.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Send them out whatever the weather. If customers object, skip them - very rarely happens.
Any hang ups you might have about working in the rain they won't have.

Unless its absolutely throwing it down then out we go, even if really bad we will do internals or as last week, some commercial. I never ask them to make the time up due to lost weather as it isn't their fault, they appreciate that, they will go out of there way to help in other things,

Yeah always wondered how that works out as it is not the workers fault but they will still need paying as they will have contracted hours.
Wonder if something would be inserted into terms n conditions that other work would need doing if weather persists.

Thanks for the replies! I do work in the rain myself but in all honesty, if I am pretty much up to date I find it pretty easy to call it a day early.

commercial work they clean whatever the weather
residential we stop anything more than drizzle - basically the guys are paid for the hours they are working so if out for an hour thats what they get paid for then they catch up later in the week or saturday morning
long term we pay 152 hrs pm - should the guys be short they still get this but work extra hrs the following month to make up the difference - but TBH more guys do over 200+ hrs a month - never rains that much here !!!
