duel wanding with a portable
« on: September 22, 2006, 05:53:09 pm »
i am in the need to put a 3rd van on the road.

i have a lot of cleaning contracts which involves 200 plus chairs lots of bench seating etc.

rarther than put another tm on the road i as thinking of placing a upto date portable for these upholstery jobs.

i read that the new portables are now compeating with tm levels of vac power.
i once owned a spitfire 3.2 entry level tm & used this to duel clean suites chairs etc with no problems.

daily we would duel clean a suite & stairs carpet ,i must admit it was quite low on vac if 1 operator was to use a carpet wand while the other was cleaning using a upholstery tool.

has anyone tried duel cleaning upholstery with a upto date portable.

Lee ,
I believe that the Hydramaster Maxx 470 is able to dual tool. Have you considered this as an option ?

Glynn, I think Lee wants to leave cleaners in situ while he goes home for a sleep before he counts his cash.

Buy two portables, it's petty cash to you.  ;)

I use two hand tools on an Advantage. A 1 1/2" tee from a sink drain and a pressure hose splitter. The ends of the tee that go in the tool hoses needs restricting by about 1/2 of the area to avoid total loss of suction. I use electrical tape in a criss cross pattern. If I used it a lot I would make a disc to fit in the ends. We have gone back 15 years and are now using ordinary edging tools for upholstery by spraying from 2-3" away from the fabric and then dry vaccing to remove the residue. A 3 pce can be cleaned effectively with 15-20 lts water with practice-- and it does work.

God must love stupid people---He made so many.
