Picked up a new customer last week. Huge house, youngish man. I kinda figured he was a sportsman. Quoted him a price, he agreed and when he gave me his name I knew who he was. Went to do it today and he had a pretty knowledgeable discussion about window cleaning. Turns out he was a window cleaner during his summer holidays for a local commercial cleaning company when he was young. He reckoned he only did ground level stuff as he was young but he described to me what sounded like a wagtail flipper that he used.

Not what I expected at all from a guy who is a current premier league player.

My son was cleaning a large house out Cheshire way
He couldn't reach one window without using next doors garden
He knocked and asked permission and Richard Dunne (ex Villa and Man City)  politely said, "fine"
My nephew was gardening next door to Alex Ferguson when Alex asked him to do a very quick job for him.
The thing is he was expecting it to be done for nothing

my missus designed richard dunne s house around a year ago now and she phoned me up and said "im sure he is a man city fan as he has a signed city shirt on the wall"

she mentioned to him that she was also a man city fan!(she didnt have a clue that he played for city for 9 years!! )

I guess the reason i posted the comment was that i was struck by what a decent and genuine guy he seemed to be. I've had dealings with footballers before and I don't like them as customers. When I heard he'd had a job such as ours in the past it made more sense to me that he wasn't totally out of touch with the real world. That's all really.
