Hi Guys,

I've gone into panic mode.
I run a cleaning company for over 25+ years and i have attended training.

And have purchased Airflex Storm which i love.

I am needing advice, i gone all panicky ....
I am starting with friends first before my cleaning clients wants me lose on there carpets, any tips, advice much appreciate.
This friends carpet will properly have dog urine embedded in the carpet over the years.

What process would u go through before using the right chemicals on this, and how would u know apart from the obvious if there is urine in the carpet?

Sounds like a baptism of fire, maybe it would be a good idea to start on something easy for your first clean say a lounge that needs a freshen up. Then you will have some idea how your machine performs.

Look at it this way you get to the root of the smell and you remove it one happy customer.

You fail to remove it, one stinky carpet.

Looking at it that way i agree sounds like pot luck if your experienced carpet cleaner who knows there products will know the answer, but for a newbie trying to learn, and keen to learn may find the answer by trial and error. Hopefully in my case before i will touch anything i want to make sure i am 100% happy to say i have completed that task to the satisfaction of the customer, with myself already having established a huge client base with my cleaning business i thought it would be a great expansion to the business. I will learn, and even if i have to attend more training courses by different providers to get the answer that will help me.

Claire I hear what your saying training is one thing but experience is something else.
Every stain or odour has its own characteristics ie carpet type, is it woven , secondary backing or resin bonded?

It makes a huge difference to what you will be using.

I had a pet stain once in a client's house, the dog had used the lounge as a toilet it took over 60 gallons of water to flush it all out.
I don't advise you to do that, you need truckmounted equipment to do that.
You say you have had training my advice is go with what you have learnt at take your time.

With something like this the more advice you receive the more confused you will be.

Claire go with my first advice, start simple and work your way up.
Most people who dive in the deep end drown!

Stains are not dirt! They need experience to remove successfully.
 Get the feel of your equipment find your limitations and about keep your friends
There is nothing worse than trying to rectify a stinking carpet!

Mr house owner hires the rug doctor and 2 days later his house smells like a dirty pub toilet

D Ingram, i am based in Nottingham, thank you for your kind offer i think personally hands on training with a pro would be what i need, learn from the best.

Easy peasy................Matt is in Nottingham who owns Cleansmart and he builds the storm. He also does training days and has chemicals for the storm............I have a storm as a backup portable but dont use his products not because they are not any good but I as Dave says by experience use other products. In your case I would go there as it's convenient and a local supplier is worth his weight in gold.

Claire take up Dave's offer as he really knows his onions.He worked down here for a while and took me out with his truckmount which really helped........then do all the above at cleansmart......Alan from Swindon

The chance of getting the stain out if it's gone yellow is very low as well.
